The Venice Film Festival, which brought some relief to film lovers around the world after the corona lockout, began with tight security measures. Italian director Daniel Lushetti’s inaugural film Lachchi had only half the seats in the auditorium.
There are 18 films in the main competition of the festival for the highest award of the prestigious Golden Lion. This includes The Disciple, directed by Chaitanya Tamhane.
The organizers hope that the festival will pass safely by September 12.
