What is the issue?
The first anti-apartheid activists in the Canadian city of Montreal. Were led by Prime Minister Sir John A. McDonald’s statue pulled down on the platform. So this hundred-year-old statue fell to pieces. The protesters included natives and blacks. Adopted by Sir John during his tenure.
Quebec leader Francois Ligolt’s statement :
Indigenous peoples had to face many hardships due to discriminatory policies. Protesters claim that many people were killed in this. Quebec leader Francois Ligolt has condemned the demolition of the statue. “No matter the history, it is not right to break it like this,” he said on Twitter.
