The BrahMos surface-to-air missile was successfully tested on the Carnicobar Islands. On the 24th of November 2020.
The missile accurately hit a target 200 km away in the Bay of Bengal.
The research and development platform for the BrahMos missile test, which was successfully tested today, has been developed by R&DE, a research and development institute of Vishrant Wadi, Pune.
The BrahMos is the world’s fastest missile and can be fired from land, warships, submarines and fighter jets. R&DE has developed different platforms for launching BrahMos missiles from all these four locations. These different platforms were created by research about 15 years ago.
All types of tests of BrahMos missiles can be carried out from the platform developed by R&DE. The BrahMos is a joint Indian-Russian missile with unparalleled speed.
