Senior translator Virupaksha Kulkarni passes away

      Virupaksha Kulkarni, a senior translator who has translated Marathi classic works into Kannada and added Marathi Kannada bridges.  He passed away on Friday 16/04/2021.  He was 81 years old.  His wife is senior translator Uma Kulkarni.
      Worked as an electrical engineer in the Department of Defense’s High Explosives Factory.
      Translated the book ‘Majhi Janmthep’ into Kannada on the occasion of Swatantryaveer Savarkar’s birth centenary.
      P.  L.  Deshpande, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s literature and Baba Amte’s character.  It also includes Sunita Deshpande’s ‘Aahe Manohar Tari’, ‘Bhairappa-Karantha Lekhan Samiksha’, Vishwanath Khaire’s ‘Mithyancha Magova’.  P.  L.  He has also edited Deshpande’s book ‘Person and Literature’.  Mumbai: He was honoured with the Varadarajan Adya Award of the Karnataka team.
