About Dr.Govind Swaroop:
Senior astronomer Dr. Govind Swaroop died 7th September 2020. He was 91 years old.
As the founding director of the National Center for Radio Astrophysics at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Dr. Govind Swaroop was known.
Along with his research in radio astronomy, he was instrumental in building the Ooty Radio Telescope.
Dr. Swaroop had set up the world’s second largest radio telescope at Khodad-Narayangaon, 80 km from Pune.
Education of About Dr.Govind Swaroop:
After graduating from Allahabad University, Dr. Swaroop holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University. Edited. After that, he came back to India. At the invitation of Homi Bhabha, he joined the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. He started a group of astronomers who are still working at the NCRA.
