In remote and Naxal-affected areas like Gadchiroli, Shri. Govindrao Munghate College of Arts and Sciences has been declared the Best Undergraduate College of Maharashtra for Industry Interface for the year 2020-21.
The Kurkheda area is remote, tribal-dominated and non-industrial. In this area, Munghate College started some courses under the Prime Minister’s Skill Development Program of the Central Government. On behalf of the Employment Guidance Center of the College, under the Advanced India Mission of the Central Government, bee keeping training, water management workshops, Vaid Sammelan, soil conservation training were conducted for the farmers of the adopted village.
This has provided employment opportunities to the tribal boys and girls in the village itself. This was noted by CEGR, an organization working in the field of education at the national level. Many academics from across the country, including many Vice-Chancellors and Vice-Chancellors, are members of the organization. The CEGR Institute has been awarding annually to individuals, institutions, universities, colleges who have done outstanding work in the field of education at the national level for the last 13 years. The award ceremony was recently held on April 19 in a virtual manner. The principal of the college, Dr. Rajabhau Munghate accepted the award.
