Karnataka Government Launched a first mobile RT-PCR lab in Bengaluru. Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru develop this lab. Mobile Infection Testing and Reporting (MITR) is the name of lab. 9000 tests per month is the total capacity of MITR lab.
Which test conduct this lab?
Mostly this lab use for testing in COVID-19. Another some desici also test by this MITR. This deciese is HCV, H1N1, TB, HIV, HPV etc. This can be testing quickly in hotspots area.
What is RT-PCR?
Is the Reverse Transcription Polymerase, Chain, Reaction. Mainly the testing of RNA is conducted in RT-PCR.
COVID-19 testing :
There are two types of testing.
1. Testing namely the presence of virus or antibodies.
2. The antibody testing shows if a person has had the disease earlier
Isothermal Amplification Assays :
Testing methodology that is used to amplify a genome of the virus. It’s faster than RT-PCR.
Antigen Testing :
The test of COVID – 19 looks for proteins in the viral surfaces. The antigen testing looks for the surface spikes.
This is type of blood testing. This can be identified antibodies such as IgM and IgG. This antibodies are generated as immune response by human body against COVID-19.
COVID-19 Test :
1. Rapid Diagnostic Test.
2. Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA).
3. Neutralization Assay.
4. Chemiluminescent Immunoassay.
