According to the new proposal, an advance plan for the festival will provide about Rs 36,000 crore to boost consumer demand. In addition, the central and state governments will increase capital expenditure by Rs 37,000 crore. In lieu of LTC for 2018-21, government employees will be given 10 days leave in cash and travel fares as per eligibility. Employees accepting the scheme will be required to submit receipts for the purchase of goods or services for triple the amount of travel fare in addition to the value of LTC cash.
