Fakir Chand Kohli, the grandfather of the Indian computer systems industry and the first CEO of Tata Consultancy and Services, has passed away. On the date of 26th November 2020. He was 96 years old.
He joined Tata Electric in 1951. Kohli is credited with setting up the country’s first power distribution center. After seeing Kohli’s quality, Tata Group chief JRD Tata asked Kohli to start Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in 1969.
Later in the same year, a computer system was installed to control the electrical connection between Mumbai and Pune. It was the third system in the world to use computer systems in electricity. Chief Executive of TCS till 1999
