In April, GST stood at a record Rs 1,41,384 crore. Of this, central GST is Rs 27,837 crore, state GST is Rs 35,621 crore, integrated GST is Rs 68,481 crore and cess is Rs 9,445 crore. GST collection in April has increased by 14 per cent as compared to March 2021. GST revenue has gone beyond Rs 1 lakh crore in the last seven months alone and has been steadily rising. Monitoring of counterfeit bills, in-depth analysis of information from various sources including GST, income tax and customs IT systems and effective functioning of tax administration have contributed to the increase in tax revenue.
