Biography of Bhanumati Costume Designer

Bhanumati Annasaheb Rajopadhyay Born on 28 April 1929 (Kolhapur) Her Husband was Satyendra Athayya.

Began her career as a fashion illustrator in the then women’s magazines in Mumbai. Later an editor started a boutique, he first dressed for producer-director Gurudatta’s CID films and she became a part of his team.

Since then, she has been responsible for costumes for many other films, winning more than 50 awards

Gurudatta Singh Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra, b.  R.  He has worked with many renowned directors like Chopra, Vijay Anand, Raj Khosla, Ashutosh Gowariker and Richard Antbrough.

The first Indian to win an Oscar.  She won the Best Costume Award for the film Gandhi. Publication of the book ‘Art of Costume Design’ in March 2010

He returned on February 23, 2012, after the Oscars were announced, saying he would not be taken care of
