GC Murmu, Auditor General of India and Comptroller and Auditor General of India, has been appointed as the external auditor of the International Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
This selection has been made for the next three years from 2021. The selection was made at a meeting of the organization held on April 21, 2021, and is considered to increase India’s importance globally. India will also be a member of the organization’s executive board and a representative of Asian countries for the next two years.
